We are seeking a strategic leader to advance our philanthropic mission—ensuring that Beebe Healthcare delivers exceptional, compassionate, and accessible care across Sussex County and beyond. In collaboration with our executive team and Foundation Board, you will steward major gifts, endowment growth, and community engagement, building a foundation of support that powers long-term transformation in healthcare.

Beebe Healthcare is seeking a visionary, collaborative leader to serve as our next Executive of Foundation and Fundraising Development. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping a long-term philanthropic strategy that advances our mission to provide high-quality, compassionate, and accessible care to all residents of Sussex County and the surrounding region.

The Executive Leader will lead our Foundation with a focus on major gifts, endowment development, and community partnerships. This leader will be charged not only with expanding our internal fundraising capacity, but also with fostering strategic collaborations with local healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and philanthropic partners to amplify our collective impact on community health. Furthermore, the executive will also be responsible for creating and operating the work of Beebe Healthcare to offer support to other philanthropic entities to “force multiply” our healthcare mission.

Strategic Fundraising & Endowment Leadership

• Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising program—from annual and major gifts to planned giving and capital campaigns.
• Develop and execute long‑term endowment strategy, including establishing and sustaining unrestricted funds for operational agility and future innovation.
• Partner closely with the CEO and Foundation Board to align philanthropic initiatives with Beebe Healthcare’s strategic priorities.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the executive team and the CEO to create and operate a mechanism for Beebe Healthcare to provide sponsorship with other non-profit entities to advance our healthcare mission.

Foundation Oversight

• Provide operational leadership to the Foundation, ensuring compliance, transparency, and excellence in donor experience.
• Provide executive support to the Beebe Medical Foundation Board of Directors and work with the CEO to ensure appropriate alignment and engagement with other Beebe Healthcare system boards
• Oversee endowment performance, collaborating with financial stewards and the health system CFO to safeguard donor intent and robust reporting.
• Ensure foundation practices reflect Beebe’s commitment to integrity, community engagement, and measurable impact.

Community Partnerships & Regional Collaboration

• Forge meaningful partnerships with healthcare providers, non-profits, public health groups, and civic organizations to co-create community health solutions.
• Identify collaborative funding strategies, joint grants, and programs to elevate access to quality health care and community impact.
• Serve as the Foundation’s representative across regional coalitions and civic forums.
• Lead the efforts of Beebe Healthcare to support other non-profit healthcare organizations that align with the mission of our organization.

Donor Engagement & Philanthropic Advocacy

• Act as the Foundation’s chief ambassador—cultivating relationships with individual donors, families, corporations, and community benefactors.
• Craft compelling storytelling and messaging that aligns donor values with Beebe’s mission across health care access, maternal care, chronic disease, and behavioral health.
• Support the CEO and other Beebe executives in sharing the vision of the organization’s future vision.
• Spearhead community education on the power of philanthropy to enhance public health.

  Internal Integration

• Partner with senior leadership to prioritize philanthropic investments that align with strategic initiatives.
• Cultivate a culture of philanthropy across Beebe Healthcare—engaging physicians, staff, board members, and volunteers as advocates and ambassadors.
• Ensure fundraising efforts support key service lines and organizational growth.
• As a senior vice president and member of the CEO cabinet, actively participate in strategic planning and business development

Performance & Accountability

• Set ambitious, outcome-driven fundraising targets and report progress to executive leadership and the Board.
• Measure and communicate the impact of philanthropic investments by articulating returns on mission and donor intent.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, development, or foundation management, preferably within a healthcare, higher education, or nonprofit setting.
• Proven track record of securing major gifts, managing endowment growth, and leading successful capital campaigns.
• Experience working with executive leadership and boards to align philanthropic strategies with organizational goals.
• Demonstrated success in building community partnerships and regional collaborations.
• A record of leading a team of strong and individual team members, often working independently, and aligning to a singular mission and vision.

Education Required

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required.
• Masters degree in Philanthropy, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline strongly preferred.

• Strategic thinking and long-term planning capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• The ability to lead an independent team while still actively engaging and collaborating in the senior executive team.
• Demonstrable record of moral and ethical performance
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of endowment management.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster a culture of philanthropy.
• Proficiency in donor management systems and fundraising analytics.
