Financial Analyst | Byron Center, MI

Salary Range: $70,000 - $104,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, incorporating production volumes and costs.
• Conduct in-depth variance analysis of actual results against budget and forecast, focusing on manufacturing costs, labor, and material variances.
• Analyze manufacturing overheads, inventory valuations, and cost of goods sold to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and dashboards for management, highlighting key operational and production KPIs.
• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals for new equipment, facility upgrades, and automation projects, including ROI and payback period analysis.
• Support product costing initiatives and analyze product line profitability to inform pricing and strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to understand operational drivers and translate them into financial impacts.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting skills.
• Expertise in cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data and provide actionable financial insights for manufacturing processes.
• Experience with financial reporting and performance analysis for production facilities.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience
• Experience with advanced cost accounting methodologies (e.g., activity-based costing)
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Familiarity with manufacturing-specific ERP modules (e.g., SAP PP, Oracle SCM)
