Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our after school team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students of middle school ages. This role involves educating students through engaging lessons, promoting creativity, and enhancing their dance skills while ensuring a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, including early childhood, preschool, and adult education levels.
Teach various dance styles while incorporating elements of classroom management and behavior management techniques to maintain an effective learning environment.
Provide constructive feedback to students, helping them improve their technique and performance.
Organize and participate in dance recitals, showcases, or competitions to promote student achievements.
Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary lessons that may include photography or cooking themes related to dance.
Engage with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
Requirements
Proven experience in dance instruction with a strong understanding of various dance styles.
Background in early childhood education or preschool education is preferred but not mandatory.
Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to educate students effectively across different age groups.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
Ability to develop creative lesson plans that inspire students and enhance their learning experience.
A passion for dance and the ability to motivate students through encouragement and positive reinforcement.
Photography skills are a plus for documenting student performances and events.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Seasonal
Pay: $29.00 - $42.00 per hour
