Carrier Sales Representative (CSR)

Location: Chattanooga, TN | On Site

Compensation: Base Salary + Commission Incentives

Position Summary: 

The Carrier Sales Representative is responsible for building, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with carrier partners. This position is centered on understanding carrier needs and proactively sourcing freight opportunities while negotiating competitive rates and overseeing execution through tracking, tracing, and problem-solving to keep shipments running smoothly. By leveraging market knowledge, negotiation skills, and relationship management, the Carrier Sales Representative builds and expands a strong carrier network, ensuring partners are supported with consistent freight options that align with their business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and strengthen long-term relationships with carriers by understanding their lane preferences and business needs.

  • Negotiate directly with carrier partners to secure fair, competitive rates and reliable capacity

  • Track and trace carrier shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.

  • Resolve issues quickly by communicating with carriers and providing proactive solutions.

  • Maintain accurate load details and documentation in internal systems.

Education/Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or transportation is preferred

  • Experience negotiating with carriers and managing carrier relationships is preferred
